Speaking aboard Air Force One on his return from Beijing, Donald Trump said he would support a 20-year suspension of Iran’s nuclear program if Tehran’s commitment is “real,” while also leaving open the possibility of future U.S. military action.
He also addressed tensions over Taiwan, saying he made “no commitments in any direction” after talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and downplayed the risk of conflict. Trump added that tariffs and several trade issues were not discussed during the meetings.
The former president also suggested possible changes to sanctions on Chinese companies buying Iranian oil, saying decisions could follow in the coming days.
