Reports say three students arrested during protest in North Macedonia over Albanian language

Thousands of Albanian students gathered today in Skopje for a protest demanding the use of the Albanian language in state institutions.

Albanian students from North Macedonia were joined by participants from Kosovo.

The protesters called for the resignation of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and Justice Minister Igor Filkov.

During the gathering, chants such as “Oh how good it is to be Albanian” and “The Albanian language is a legacy” were heard, while participants also sang the Albanian national anthem.

According to reports by Top Channel, three students were arrested by North Macedonian police during the protest.
