Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, announced that the Kosovo Police has officially launched the promotion process for the rank of Lieutenant, opening 157 positions for police officers who meet the legal and professional criteria.
According to Sveçla, eligible applicants include officers who have served at least two years with the rank of Sergeant, as well as Senior Police Officers with a minimum of 10 years of active service within the Kosovo Police.
“This process marks another concrete step toward reforming and strengthening the career system within the police force. It ensures greater advancement opportunities for officers who have served for years with professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public safety,” Sveçla stated.
The application deadline is June 12, 2026.
