Protest at Border Crossings with Serbia, Elshani Describes the Situation

The National Border Management Center has invited citizens planning to travel through border crossings with Serbia to use other points of passage this Saturday (today), as protests have been announced there for today.

The Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the northern Mitrovica region, Veton Elshani, spoke about the situation there.

Elshani said that the situation is currently calm and everything is in order.

“The situation is currently calm and everything is in order. The police are taking care of the situation,” he said briefly.

He added that in case of any escalation, the police are there.

Additionally, on Friday, the NBMC announced that protests have been announced, adding that this notice remains valid until further notice.

“All citizens planning to travel through Border Crossing Points with SRB are informed that in the SRB part, for tomorrow, May 25, 2024, protests have been announced. We encourage you to use other BCPs for circulation. This notice remains valid until further notice. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
