China has announced new export controls targeting 10 American companies operating in the defense, aerospace, and rare-earth mining sectors.
According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, the measures prohibit Chinese exporters from supplying these companies with dual-use products that can be utilized for both civilian and military purposes.
The companies affected by the restrictions include AVEOX, Red Cat Holdings, Teal Drones, IMSAR, Jaia Robotics, Ball Aerospace & Technologies, Oshkosh Defense, L3Harris Maritime Services, MP Materials, and USA Rare Earth.
Chinese authorities stated that the move was taken in response to the United States’ expansion of its list of Chinese firms that Washington considers to be linked to the Chinese military.
Beijing emphasized that the measures are intended to safeguard national security, describing the U.S. decision as unfair and provocative.
The development comes amid heightened tensions between the world’s two largest economies, despite previous efforts to ease trade and technology disputes.
