Two Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) parliamentary candidates, Bekim Haxhiu and Qëndrim Kryeziu, are continuing their legal challenge to the election results despite having three appeals rejected over the past two weeks—twice by the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP/PZAP) and once by the Supreme Court.
The two candidates remain determined to seek a full recount of the votes cast for PDK candidates.
Kryeziu announced that on Friday he will submit another appeal to the Supreme Court, accompanied by what he describes as new evidence.
“This is a document that the Central Election Commission concealed, showing a discrepancy of more than 500 votes for PDK. Therefore, a full recount is necessary,” Kryeziu said.
Bekim Haxhiu also confirmed that he will submit the same document with his appeal.
“The document contains new data that supports what we have been insisting on,” Haxhiu said.
Meanwhile, as the deadline for filing appeals nears, the Supreme Court stated that it has not yet received any additional appeals following the publication of the final results of the June 7 elections.
“We inform you that, so far, no appeals have been received against the ECAP decisions following the announcement of the final results of the June 7 elections,” the court said.
Political parties and candidates have until Friday afternoon to file any remaining appeals. The Supreme Court will then have three days to review the cases, after which the process can move toward the certification of the election results, which is expected to take place **no later than July 6.
