Five years after the tragic accident, a memorial plaque will be unveiled in Slavonski Brod, Croatia, in honor of the victims from Kosovo

The Embassy of Kosovo in Croatia has announced that on July 23, 2026, a memorial plaque dedicated to the victims who lost their lives in the tragic road accident of July 25, 2021, will be unveiled in Slavonski Brod, Croatia.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM.

According to the announcement, the ceremony will be held as a tribute and a permanent remembrance of the victims of the tragedy, while also conveying a message of respect, solidarity, and institutional remembrance.

“Taking part in this event will be a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, representatives of the local authorities of the City of Slavonski Brod, representatives of the Brod-Posavina County Prefecture, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in the Republic of Croatia,” the statement said.

On the morning of July 25, 2021, a tragic accident in Slavonski Brod, Croatia, claimed the lives of 10 citizens of Kosovo.

A bus carrying around 60 passengers from Frankfurt, Germany, to Kosovo veered off the road. In addition to those who lost their lives, more than 30 people were injured.

The driver of the Kosovo-based company “Deva Tours” was arrested in connection with the accident. During questioning by Croatian police, he stated that he had fallen asleep briefly while driving.
