Strong winds affecting several areas of Kosovo have caused damage to the electricity distribution network, the Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS) announced.

According to KEDS, a number of regions have experienced power outages as a result of the adverse weather conditions. Technical teams have been deployed to the affected areas and are working to repair the damage and restore electricity supply as quickly as possible.

“Severe weather conditions have caused disruptions to the electricity network. Our teams are working continuously to carry out the necessary interventions,” KEDS said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute (IHMK) has forecast localized rainfall and thunderstorms in several parts of the country during the afternoon.

The severe weather has also caused additional damage in some municipalities. In Pristina, strong winds uprooted a tree in the city center, while hailstorms were reported in the municipality of Istog.
