Republican Congressman Joe Wilson says Serbia should stop purchasing Russian energy and distance itself from Moscow, Beijing, and Tehran if it genuinely wants to become fully integrated into Western institutions.
In an interview with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), Wilson said that ongoing negotiations aimed at reducing Serbia’s dependence on Russian oil are “not enough,” arguing that Belgrade has the ability to act unilaterally without waiting for outside approval.
Wilson also sponsors a resolution in the U.S. Congress proposing that the 2027 annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly be held in the United States instead of Serbia.
