Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia may launch a large-scale aerial assault in the coming hours, urging citizens across the country to immediately follow air raid alerts and seek shelter whenever sirens sound.
In a statement shared on social media, Zelensky said the warning was based on information provided by the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, who reported that Russian forces have been preparing for a major operation for several days.
The Ukrainian president also called on international partners to maintain and strengthen military support, stressing that air defense remains critical to the country’s security.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine urgently needs additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles, particularly from allied nations that operate Patriot air defense systems.
“Please, in all regions of Ukraine, pay close attention to air raid alerts and stay safe,” Zelensky appealed.
The warning comes as fighting between Ukraine and Russia continues to intensify, with both sides reporting strikes on strategic targets in recent days.
