United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has welcomed the reported plan for the disarmament of Hamas, while reflecting on the ongoing challenges facing the Middle East.
Referring to the recent conflict involving Iran, Guterres told reporters that the reported agreement concerning Gaza is “the only good news in recent days,” according to the BBC.
“Let me be clear: the fighting must stop on all fronts across the region,” Guterres said.
His remarks come as international efforts continue to seek a ceasefire in Gaza and advance a broader framework aimed at reducing tensions and restoring stability across the Middle East.
