Acting Prime Minister and Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti will meet Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) leader Lumir Abdixhiku on Tuesday at 18:00 at the Assembly of Kosovo, as political leaders continue efforts to break the institutional deadlock and facilitate the formation of the country’s new governing institutions.
The meeting was confirmed to Ekonomia Online by LDK spokesperson Besian Mustafa.
“Yes, tomorrow at 18:00 at the Assembly of Kosovo,” Mustafa said.
Kurti recently invited the leaders of parliamentary political parties to consultations aimed at advancing the process of establishing Kosovo’s new institutions following the June elections.
While Abdixhiku accepted the invitation, other opposition leaders declined to participate. Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader Bedri Hamza reiterated that his party intends to remain in opposition under the current circumstances, while Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ardian Gjini also rejected the invitation, stating that his party’s position regarding government formation remains unchanged.
The meeting between Kurti and Abdixhiku is expected to focus on possible avenues for overcoming the political impasse and enabling the constitution of Kosovo’s institutions, a process that has remained stalled despite ongoing consultations among political parties.
