Serbia’s student protest movement has officially confirmed the registration of the “Studentska Lista” (Student List) association with the Serbian Business Registers Agency (APR), marking a significant organizational step as student-led activism continues across the country.
In a brief statement published on the social media platform X, the Students in Blockade movement announced: “We are planning. We are organizing. We are working,” accompanied by the slogan, “Students win.”
The confirmation follows media reports revealing that the association was initially registered on May 21, while a July 14 APR decision correcting an administrative error specifies that the organization has been established for a fixed term lasting until May 1, 2028.
According to the association’s founding documents, its primary objectives include increasing youth participation in democratic processes, monitoring and analyzing elections and referendums in Serbia, promoting respect for the rule of law, strengthening voter rights, encouraging freedom of expression, and fostering constitutional and legal compliance.
To achieve these goals, the organization plans to conduct independent election observation missions, organize conferences, seminars and educational programs, prepare reports and public opinion analyses, cooperate with domestic and international institutions, and advocate for greater transparency in electoral processes. The association also states that it may initiate legal actions, propose legislative amendments and organize public gatherings in accordance with Serbian law.
Membership is open to both individuals and organizations registered in Serbia. New members require a written recommendation from an existing member, acceptance of the association’s statute and objectives, and approval by its governing board.
The association’s official seal features an owl wearing a hood, accompanied by the inscription “Studentska Lista,” reflecting the visual identity that has become associated with Serbia’s student protest movement.
The registration comes as student organizations continue to expand their civic and political engagement through campaigns, public events and election-monitoring initiatives.
