Kosovo Customs has reminded the public that, within its legal mandate, it implements international sanctions and restrictive measures applicable in Kosovo during the import, export and transit of goods.
“Within its legal competencies, Kosovo Customs implements restrictive measures and international sanctions applicable in the Republic of Kosovo during the import, export and transit of goods,” the institution said in a statement.
According to Kosovo Customs, international sanctions are designed to prevent transactions and the movement of goods that may violate applicable legislation or Kosovo’s international obligations.
As part of these efforts, Customs conducts risk assessments and inspections of goods, businesses and transactions, while taking the necessary measures when cases potentially involving violations or attempts to circumvent sanctions are identified.
The enforcement framework includes, among others, European Union sanctions regimes, United States sanctions, United Nations Security Council resolutions and other international instruments applicable in Kosovo.
Kosovo Customs said the measures are part of its broader efforts to strengthen border controls, prevent illicit trade and ensure compliance with international obligations.
The institution also directed the public to its official website for further information on applicable sanctions and restrictive measures.
