The U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs’ Subcommittee on Europe will hold a hearing on Tuesday, September 15, titled “U.S. Policy and Regional Security Challenges in the Western Balkans.”

Daniel J. Lawton, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, will testify before the subcommittee.

According to Albanians for America, the hearing comes at a time when the U.S. Congress is showing increased attention to developments in the Western Balkans, including issues affecting Kosovo and Albanian communities across the region.

“Tomorrow’s hearing represents another important opportunity for developments affecting Albanians and the future of the Western Balkans to receive attention in the U.S. Congress,” the organization said in its statement.
