British Ambassador to Kosovo Jonathan Hargreaves has reacted to the Constitutional Court’s decision, congratulating Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his new government while calling on Kosovo’s political parties to elect a president by October 6.
“I warmly congratulate Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his ministers on their confirmation as Kosovo’s new government.
“After the prolonged political deadlock, this is an important step toward stable and effective institutions that can deliver services to the citizens of Kosovo. The United Kingdom looks forward to working closely with the government in the months ahead.
“I hope that all political parties will now demonstrate a spirit of responsibility and cooperation by working together to elect a President before October 6, helping Kosovo implement the reforms, opportunities and challenges ahead.
“The United Kingdom remains an unwavering friend and partner of Kosovo, working together in our mutual interest on democracy and the rule of law, economic opportunities, regional security and Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic future,” Hargreaves said.
