Russia has threatened Japan with severe measures after Japanese company Terra Drone announced that it had sent drones to Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova warned that Moscow has the resources necessary to take action against Japan, without specifying what those measures might be.
“I believe they will hear us in Tokyo,” Zakharova said.
She also reiterated Moscow’s position that weapons manufacturing facilities on Ukrainian territory are considered legitimate targets for Russian attacks.
Terra Drone’s announcement comes as Ukraine seeks to expand its military and technological capabilities to counter Russia’s invasion. Details about the type and number of drones delivered have not been disclosed.
Moscow’s warning adds to tensions with Japan, which has supported Ukraine and condemned Russia’s invasion in coordination with other G7 countries.
