A 54-year-old man from Novobërdë is under investigation after police discovered a revolver containing four bullets during a search of his home.

According to different sources, the man is Goran Stoshiq, from the village of Bostan in Novobërdë. A criminal case has been initiated against him over the alleged unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The police search took place on October 21, 2026, under a court order. The operation began at 9:40 a.m. and ended at 10:20 a.m.

During the search, officers found a heavily corroded revolver with four bullets still inside. Due to the weapon’s condition, its identifying details and serial number could not be determined. Police were also unable to remove the four bullets because of the corrosion.

When questioned about the weapon’s origin, Stoshiq reportedly told authorities that he had discovered it approximately one or two months earlier while renovating his house. He claimed that the revolver had belonged to his late grandfather and that he had found it accidentally during the renovation work.

Police seized the firearm and ammunition and completed the relevant seizure documentation.

The State Prosecutor was notified, and following consultations, proceedings were initiated over the alleged criminal offense of unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons.

The case will be forwarded to the Basic Prosecution for further handling under regular procedures. Authorities have yet to clarify the weapon’s full origin and legal status.
