Human rights activist Nataša Kandić has criticized Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s reaction to the recent snap parliamentary elections, describing his anger as that of “a powerless and defeated radical.”

In an interview with Croatian-language television channel N1, Kandić discussed Vučić’s post-election statements, his relationship with the student movement and efforts to mobilize supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) following the party’s electoral defeat.

Kandić characterized the president’s response as an expression of frustration over the election outcome, saying that his rhetoric reflected the position of a political leader facing a challenge from a growing opposition movement.

Her comments came after Vučić and the SNS suffered a defeat in the snap parliamentary elections, in which the student-backed movement emerged as a major political force.

The interview focused on the political consequences of the result, the growing influence of the student movement and the Serbian president’s efforts to maintain support among SNS voters.
