European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will present the 2026 Enlargement Package on November 4, the European Parliament has announced.
The package includes reports by the European Commission on ten candidate and potential candidate countries for EU membership.
After the Commission assesses each country’s progress in implementing EU-related reforms, the Standing Rapporteurs of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) will prepare draft resolutions for each country individually.
These resolutions will set out the European Parliament’s views and recommendations regarding the countries’ paths towards EU membership.
On November 5, the European Parliament will also hold a discussion on the funding instruments for the Western Balkans, Moldova and Ukraine.
Members of AFET and the Committee on Budgets will jointly organise the fifth dialogue on the Reform and Growth Facility for the Western Balkans, the third dialogue on the Reform and Growth Facility for the Republic of Moldova, and the sixth dialogue on the Ukraine Facility.
In addition, Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, will brief MEPs on the current state of implementation of the respective reform agendas and the disbursement of EU funds.
