A Russian minor was detained today on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack in a park in Moscow.
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said it had received information from the United States yesterday regarding preparations for an attack at the Tsaritsyno complex, which was temporarily closed as a precaution.
The teenager had reportedly posted photographs on TikTok showing himself wearing a tactical uniform and a mask while holding an object resembling an automatic firearm.
He had also published photographs taken at the Moscow Historical Museum and Tsaritsyno Park, accompanied by the caption: “I found the place.”
During a search of his home, authorities discovered clothing and equipment matching those seen in his social media posts.
Investigators also found a subscription to a neo-Nazi channel on the Telegram messaging platform on his phone, along with “a significant number of searches related to terrorist attacks, mass killings and other acts of violence”.
Russia’s Investigative Committee is currently considering the appropriate legal steps to be taken, the FSB announced.
