Ivana Stradner, an advisor at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and an analyst knowledgeable about Balkan developments, has commented on the events following last night’s incident in Loznica, Serbia, where a policeman was reported killed and another wounded.

The primary suspect in this case was initially the Kosovo citizen Artan Hajrizi, as his passport was found at the scene, according to Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dačić.

However, it was later revealed that Artan was actually in Germany and the main suspect in this case was his brother, Faton Hajrizi, who had escaped from Smrekonica prison about two weeks prior.

Dačić called the incident a “terrorist attack” and an “act originating from Albanian structures in Kosovo.”

However, analyst Stradner urges the West not to fall for Serbian propaganda.

In a post on the platform X, she stated that Russia and Serbia have long been creating informative conditions for “Wahhabi groups” in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The Serbian interior minister has just announced another ‘terrorist attack’ in Serbia. Also, Russia and Serbia have been creating informative conditions for ‘Wahhabi groups’ in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina for weeks.”

“Many in the West can’t connect the dots…”, she wrote.

Earlier in the day, Stradner also posted about “Serbian propaganda” claiming that “Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina are preparing for a war against Serbia.”

“In reality, it is the Serbian government that is preparing for a new escalation in the Balkans, and this year US intelligence warned of new escalations in the region,” Stradner stated.

Artan Hajrizi declared that Faton had stolen his personal documents.

However, sources indicate that it was actually Artan who sent his passport to Faton by mail.

Media in Bosnia and Herzegovina reported that a person has been arrested in connection with the murder of the policeman in Loznica, Serbia. The identity of the arrested person has not been disclosed.
