The German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, attended a reception celebrating Ukraine’s National Day.
Wearing a scarf in the colors of the state fighting to defend its integrity and sovereignty against Russian aggression, Rohde delivered a speech at the National Library of Kosovo, emphasizing Kosovo’s support for Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
Rohde stated that the support has been strong and expressed pride that “Kosovo has been part of this unwavering support from the start.”
“This solidarity is particularly remarkable as Ukraine has not yet recognized Kosovo as a sovereign state,” Rohde said.
However, he added that the people of Kosovo have shown deep support for Ukraine.
From Pristina to Kyiv, he noted that the support has been at many levels, including both military and political.
In this context, the German ambassador also mentioned the sheltering of Ukrainian journalists in Kosovo.
