The constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly, which began on August 8, 2026, has continued with the election of the Assembly’s leadership.
Albulena Haxhiu was proposed as a candidate for Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly. In the vote, Haxhiu received 62 votes in favor, while 16 MPs voted against and 13 abstained.
With the majority of votes, Albulena Haxhiu was elected Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo for the 11th Legislature.
Her election marks a key step toward completing the constitution of the new Assembly and establishing Kosovo’s new institutional leadership following the parliamentary elections.
