“Our army is comparable to Balkan countries and surpasses many of them,” said Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci about the Kosovo Security Forces.
Maqedonci made this statement during a defense and security policy panel at the General Council of the Vetëvendosje Movement.
“An increase of 6,000 percent in defense investments. It’s unimaginable that during the period 2018-2020, less than four million euros were spent on armament, while from 2021 to 2023, 238 million euros have been spent. Through these purchases, we have saved millions of euros from Kosovo’s budget. Bayraktar systems, strategic Javelin systems, which we are in the process of finalizing payments for, will become part of our inventory. There are many other systems being procured, important for strengthening combat capabilities,” said the Defense Minister.
