Prime Minister Albin Kurti, following the conclusion of the Berlin Process Summit, spoke to the media about the issues addressed at the summit and reiterated the impossibility of free movement between the citizens of Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He stated that the Bosnian state, due to the Republika Srpska, has turned into a small Belarus in the Balkans.

“We have visa liberalization in Kosovo starting January 1, and we find ourselves in a paradoxical situation where if I want to go to Sarajevo with a Kosovo diplomatic passport, I need to go to Skopje to obtain a short-term visa, which is a painful absurdity. Therefore, given that we were the first to ratify the agreement for free movement with identity cards and that this has not been done in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I have proposed that starting January 1, citizens of Bosnia can come to Kosovo with identity cards, even though they will not be able to do the same due to the Republika Srpska there, which has become a small Belarus in our Western Balkans,” Kurti expressed.

The Prime Minister further added that while the Croats in Bosnia have Croatian passports, the Serbs have those of Serbia, and the Bosniaks are the ones who suffer the most, stating that it is not acceptable for Pristina and Sarajevo to continue to be unable to travel freely.
