Following the report delivery, there was a meeting and then a speech to the media.

“Membership negotiations are once again at the forefront of the EU agenda. The new Commission will be fully committed to enlargement. Serbia has confirmed that membership is its strategic goal. The EU has long been Serbia’s main economic partner. Now more than ever, EU membership is a strategic decision for the Commission. Progress on the rule of law and the normalization of relations with Pristina will influence the opening of Cluster 3. Serbia, while pursuing EU integration, is working hard. The EU will provide technical assistance and financial resources,” Giaufret stated.

“Serbia must enhance its progress in the judiciary; we positively assessed the progress within Chapter 24. We welcome cooperation with Interpol, Europol… Regarding Chapter 23, we have noted progress. When it comes to the media, we expect certain laws to be implemented. In terms of foreign policy, we expect alignment with EU measures,” Giaufret emphasized.
