Albanian MP in the Serbian Parliament Shaip Kamberi held a meeting in New York with U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson, with whom he discussed the situation of Albanians living in the Presheva Valley.
Kamberi said the meeting focused on the underrepresentation of Albanians in public institutions, the passive registration of residential addresses, education in the Albanian language, and Serbia’s non-recognition of diplomas issued in Kosovo.
According to Kamberi, the need to address these issues through the U.S. Helsinki Commission, as well as in communications with Belgrade, was emphasized during the meeting.
“The Presheva Valley must be part of international attention,” Kamberi wrote.
