Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that he will ask his cabinet to approve a ceasefire proposal with Hezbollah, paving the way to end nearly 14 months of conflict.

Netanyahu stated that the vote is expected to take place later in the evening.

It remains unclear when the ceasefire would begin or what its specific terms would be.

This ceasefire does not affect Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which shows no signs of ending. Hamas is designated a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union.
