The elected U.S. president, Donald Trump, has warned Hamas that there will be severe consequences if Israeli hostages are not released before he takes office on January 20.
In a social media post, Trump warned that all those responsible for the hostages will face forceful retaliation.
“If the hostages are not released before January 20, 2025, the date I proudly take office as President of the United States, the Middle East and those responsible for these atrocities against humanity will face hell,” he said.
Trump’s warning comes after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, Yair, and Netanyahu’s wife, Sara, at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
