The Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo has provided details about Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s recent visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was welcomed at the Council of Ministers building by the Chairman of the Council, Nermin Nikšić.
During the meetings, Martin Berisha was also present. The Prime Minister’s office clarified that Berisha is responsible not only for Croatia but also for Bosnia and Herzegovina. “In all of today’s meetings, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Rexhepi, Kosovo’s Ambassador to Croatia (also responsible for Bosnia and Herzegovina) Martin Berisha, and the Prime Minister’s staff,” the announcement said.
The main topics discussed included the bilateral relations between Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, economic cooperation, new opportunities, and ways to increase trade, cultural, and educational exchanges. Additionally, regional developments and cooperation were key aspects of the talks.
Prime Minister Kurti informed the Chairman of the Council of Ministers that, starting January 1 next year, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to travel to Kosovo using identity cards, as stipulated in the agreement signed in Berlin in November 2022 as part of the Berlin Process. He called on Bosnia and Herzegovina to ratify the agreement as soon as possible, so that citizens of Kosovo can also travel freely to this country in the Western Balkans with their ID cards.
