The White House has confirmed that the United States will not finance the reconstruction of Gaza. The statement was made by spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, a day after President Donald Trump expressed his intention to have control over the Gaza Strip. “Our administration will work with regional partners to rebuild that area, but the US will not fund this process,” she said.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres emphasized that sustainable peace in the region requires irreversible progress towards a two-state solution. He stated that ending the occupation and creating an independent Palestinian state, with Gaza as an integral part, are essential for stability.
Additionally, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, in a phone conversation with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, called for international support in implementing a two-state solution.
“The international community must take on its responsibilities,” Al Sisi declared, stressing the need for coordinated action to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
