The First Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia and former leader of the Democratic Movement, Izet Mexhiti, congratulated Albin Kurti on his victory in today’s parliamentary elections in Kosovo.
In a post on Facebook, Izet Mexhiti stated that the victory of the Vetëvendosje Movement is an example and inspiration that justice prevails, even when it seems impossible.
“Warm congratulations, dear brother Albin, congratulations to Vetëvendosje. Your victory is an example and inspiration for all of us that justice prevails even when it seems impossible and illusory. Congratulations and praise to all the citizens of Kosovo for the high awareness demonstrated today. Congratulations and compliments to the institutions of Kosovo for the democratic elections and the festive atmosphere across Kosovo,” Mexhiti wrote.
As of 23:23, 73.04% of votes from 1,850 out of 2,533 polling stations had been counted. The Vetëvendosje Movement leads with 41.99%, or 258,020 votes. The Democratic Party of Kosovo ranks second with 22.68%, or 139,357 votes. The Democratic League of Kosovo is in third with 17.90%, or 109,986 votes. The AAK-NISMA-Conservatives-Intellectuals Coalition has 7.56%, or 46,434 votes. The Serbian List has 2.98%, or 18,313 votes.
