Italian soldiers assigned to the Regional Command in the western part of the NATO-led KFOR mission have conducted routine patrols along the Administrative Boundary Lines (ABL) in the northern part of the Istog municipality.
The motorized and foot patrol activities aim to ensure security and maintain a constant presence in the area.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a protective and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially,” the statement says.
“KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders,” it further adds.
