A large group of protesters gathered in Syntagma Square in Athens on the 2nd anniversary of the Tempi tragedy clashed violently with the police.

The protesters threw stones and numerous Molotov cocktails towards the Parliament, where a large number of officers had been deployed. The police responded with tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Hundreds of thousands of people flooded several cities in Greece on Friday to honor the victims and demand better safety and working conditions.

On February 28, 2022, 57 passengers lost their lives in a train collision in Tempi, most of them students.
