U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that the long-anticipated mineral agreement will be signed later today. Speaking on the matter, he praised the “incredibly brave” Ukrainian troops, giving them “great credit” for their resilience in the face of Russian aggression over the past three years.
Trump called the mineral deal “very fair” and emphasized its significance for future technological advancements, noting that rare earth materials would be used for a variety of purposes, including artificial intelligence (AI) and military weapons.
The president also remarked that the ultimate outcome of the agreement would be to prevent further conflict, stating, “You won’t go back to war.” While acknowledging that Ukraine would need to make compromises, he reassured that these would not be as significant as some might expect, as “you can’t make any deal without compromises.”
