Albin Kurti, leader of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje and Prime Minister of Kosovo, has set a new electoral record, surpassing President Vjosa Osmani’s previous milestone from the 2021 elections. With a total of 325,061 votes counted so far—including regular votes, diaspora ballots from diplomatic representations, and postal votes—Kurti is now the most voted leader in Kosovo’s history.

By comparison, Osmani had secured 300,756 votes in 2021. From regular in-country voting alone, Kurti received 290,862 votes, while 10,792 votes came from diaspora voting at diplomatic missions. Additionally, 23,407 votes have been counted from postal ballots, with 42 more ballot boxes still to be processed.

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) is expected to certify the final results of the February 9 elections by mid-March.

Preliminary results indicate that no single party has secured enough votes to govern alone. Vetëvendosje currently leads with around 40%, followed by PDK with 22%, LDK with 17%, and the AAK-Nisma coalition with 7%. The upcoming coalition negotiations will be crucial in determining Kosovo’s next government.
