The head of Germany’s intelligence service, BND, Bruno Kahl, stated that Russia aims to test the unity of the West and assess how Article 5 of NATO functions, which considers an attack on one ally as an attack on all.
According to him, Moscow may accelerate this process depending on the course of the war in Ukraine.
If the conflict ends before 2029-2030, Russia could more quickly direct its resources against Europe.
“We hope this does not happen, but we must be prepared,” emphasized Kahl.
