Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced that his ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will organize what he calls the largest rally in Serbia’s history on March 28 in Belgrade.
Speaking at an SNS General Assembly meeting, Vučić reiterated plans for the launch of the “Movement for the People and the State” on March 21, which he described as a major political initiative.
Call for National Mobilization
Vučić urged citizens from across Serbia—including workers, farmers, and all those “tired of the current situation”—to gather in Belgrade for the March 28 rally.
“I have agreed, as I understand, Miloš has accepted, and the Presidency will decide whether the Main Board needs to confirm it, but we are calling all of Serbia—literally all of it—workers, farmers, and honest people who have had enough of this, to the largest rally in Serbia’s history on March 28 in Belgrade,” Vučić stated.
Warning Over March 15 Protest
Commenting on the March 15 opposition-led protest in Belgrade, Vučić issued a stern warning against any attempts to storm government buildings.
“Anyone who damages state institutions or tries to break into them will be punished with 3 to 15 years in prison, as per the law,” he said.
“If they start using violence that day, we will end it immediately, and the referee will blow the final whistle,” Vučić added.
The developments highlight rising political tensions in Serbia, as Vučić seeks to consolidate power through his new movement while facing growing opposition protests.
