Leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, met with the EU’s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, to discuss recent political developments and Kosovo’s European integration.
Abdixhiku reiterated LDK’s support for the EU-facilitated dialogue, emphasizing the importance of direct U.S. involvement and the ultimate goal of mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia. He also expressed strong opposition to the government-approved draft statute of the Association of Serb-Majority Municipalities, calling it a step toward territorial autonomy within Kosovo.
Furthermore, Abdixhiku urged the EU to remove its punitive measures against Kosovo, arguing that these sanctions harm citizens and hinder Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
“I expressed my belief that the European Union will continue to support Kosovo in its integration efforts and other key processes,” Abdixhiku stated.
