Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV) has filed a complaint with the Panel for Election Complaints and Appeals (PZAP), seeking the annulment of 18,000 votes for the Lidhja Demokratike e Kosovës (LDK) and a re-vote by mail. LVV claims that LDK candidates received a disproportionate number of mail-in votes compared to votes cast in Kosovo itself.
Blerim Sallahu, LVV’s representative and Deputy Minister of Justice, alleged that LDK’s manipulation began with the registration of diaspora voters, accusing the party of orchestrating voter fraud. Sallahu emphasized that this manipulation was aimed at undermining citizens’ will, with LDK as the main culprit.
Additionally, LVV Secretary Alim Rama revealed that the party had reported these electoral manipulations to the prosecution but has yet to receive any updates on possible actions taken against those involved.
According to the latest reports, the Central Election Commission (KQZ) released the final results last week, with LVV leading at 42.30%, followed by PDK at 20.95%, LDK at 18.27%, and AAK-Nisma at 7.06%. In the mail-in voting process, LVV secured 32,706 votes (51.89%), LDK gained 19,037 votes (30.21%), PDK received 5,992 votes (9.51%), and other parties including AAK, Nisma, and the Conservatives received 2,027 votes (3.22%).
LVV has specifically highlighted candidates who received an unusually high number of mail-in votes, such as Hysen Çekaj, Gazmend Muhaxheri, Bahrije Hyseni, Alban Zogaj, Jeta Rafuna Hasani, Fatmir Asllani, Qerim Softolli, and Berat Rukiqi.
