27 years ago, the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) fought one of its fiercest battles against the Serbian army in Gllogjan.

This event is known as the Epopee of Dukagjin.

To honor this day, which is also recognized as the Day of Martyrs of Dukagjin and the beginning of NATO’s airstrikes, several activities are planned.

The event will begin with tributes at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Gllogjan at 11:00 AM, followed by the central ceremony at 12:00 PM, and an artistic program starting at 1:00 PM.

On March 24, 1998, a frontal battle took place in Gllogjan between the KLA forces and the enemy troops, who had surrounded the town. Their target was the Haradinaj family home, where they met fierce resistance from the Kosovo Liberation Army, led by Ramush Haradinaj.

On this day, martyrs Himë Haradinaj, Gazmend, and Agron Mehmetaj fell.
