Today marks 26 years since the Izbicë massacre, where on March 28, 1999, Serbian police and military forces surrounded thousands of civilians in Izbicë and nearby villages. They separated 147 men, both young and elderly, executing and massacring them, while the remaining civilians were forcibly expelled from Kosovo.

The Izbicë massacre stands among the gravest crimes committed by the Serbian state. The mass killing, desecration of bodies, and their burial—documented through satellite images—gained global attention.

Yet, 26 years later, none of the perpetrators have faced justice, either in local or international courts.
