During the meeting, KFOR shared insights on the current security situation in the region, highlighting efforts to ensure a safe environment for all people living in Kosovo and support the EU-mediated dialogue between Prishtina and Belgrade.

Barduani also expressed his gratitude to the UK for its long-standing contribution to KFOR and regional stability.

Lammy Also Meets with Kosovo’s President

Following his meeting with Barduani, Lammy also met with Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani, after which they held a joint media address.

In his statement, Lammy emphasized the strong ties between the UK and Kosovo, reflecting on Tony Blair’s role in NATO’s intervention in Kosovo and the progress the country has made since. He noted that this progress must be supported in light of current global challenges.

“It’s a great feeling to return to Kosovo. The strong relationship between our two nations is something I hold in high regard, as do my colleagues in the new administration. Last year, you welcomed Tony Blair here, and his role in the NATO intervention remains one of his most significant achievements. It’s clear, when you come to Kosovo and see the tremendous progress made, that it is progress we must continue to support in these difficult global times,” Lammy said.
