Today, we mark one of the most important moments in the state history of Kosovo—the adoption of our Constitution, which on April 9, 2008, laid the legal and institutional foundations of our independent state.
“The Constitution is our common contract for a democratic, just, and equal society. It guarantees the fundamental freedoms and rights of every citizen, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or affiliation, establishing the rule of law as the foundation for the functioning of institutions,” said the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.
On this day, she emphasized, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting the Constitution, to implementing it faithfully, and to living by it in every decision, policy, and action. Because only through strengthening the rule of law and respecting the constitutional order can we build a state that serves its citizens with dignity and justice.
She added that a state that adheres to and respects the letter and spirit of the Constitution is the guarantor of a secure and just future for all of its citizens.
