Vedat Muriqi has been enjoying an excellent spell with Mallorca, playing a key role in coach Jagoba Arrasate’s plans. However, the Kosovar striker is now facing a new challenge after suffering an injury in the league match against Celta, where he hurt his left knee, reports Estadio Deportivo, as cited by Rks News.
Muriqi is expected to be out for three to four weeks, posing a fresh challenge for the Basque coach during a critical stage of the season.
His injury comes at a delicate moment for Mallorca, who currently sit in ninth place on the table, eight points behind Betis, who hold the final European qualification spot in sixth.
This season, Muriqi has been a vital player for Mallorca, making 26 appearances, scoring seven goals, and providing two assists.
The 30-year-old has a contract with the club until 2027 and has expressed his willingness to continue his journey with Mallorca. According to the transfer-focused platform Transfermarkt, Muriqi is currently valued at €8 million.
