Amid ongoing political gridlock in Kosovo, President Vjosa Osmani met today with Anu Pratipatti, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina, to discuss the path forward following the failure to constitute the new Assembly.

According to the Presidency, Osmani informed Pratipatti about her recent letter to Members of Parliament, outlining the next institutional steps in line with the Constitution to ensure democratic functionality and political stability.

“The President emphasized the importance of moving forward with the institutional process and the formation of a new government,” the statement said.

Osmani also reaffirmed Kosovo’s strategic partnership with the United States, noting that continued bilateral cooperation—especially in defense and security—is essential for regional peace and stability.

The two also discussed Kosovo’s new diplomatic recognitions from Kenya and Sudan, which Osmani welcomed as a step forward in strengthening Kosovo’s international subjectivity.

“Both sides reiterated their mutual commitment to deepening ties between Kosovo and the United States,” the Presidency concluded.
