Abelard Tahiri from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) expressed skepticism about the chances of Vetëvendosje (VV) securing enough votes in today’s parliamentary session to elect the new Speaker of the Assembly.

Speaking on the “Reel Talk” program, Tahiri confirmed that PDK’s stance remains unchanged, echoing their previous voting behavior in similar cases.

“This is not in our hands. We will act the same way as we did in both previous cases when the vote was held for the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo,” Tahiri stated.

He added that everything now depends on whether VV and its potential coalition partners can secure a majority in the Assembly.

“What’s expected to happen is, if this party manages to secure a majority with the coalition partners it claims to have, and reaches 61 deputies, then naturally, they will resolve this issue and we will have a new Speaker of the Assembly,” he explained.

However, Tahiri remains doubtful, citing the current internal dynamics and atmosphere in the Assembly:

“I’m very skeptical, looking at the internal situation and the atmosphere inside…” he added, hinting at ongoing challenges in the parliamentary landscape.
