Following the approval of the commission’s report verifying the quorum and mandates, the constitution process has stalled at the point of electing the Speaker of the Assembly. The Vetëvendosje (VV) party has repeatedly nominated Albulena Haxhiu for the position, but she has failed to secure the required 61 votes.
Opposition parties have called on VV to change their candidate, claiming that Haxhiu is a divisive figure.
