Kosovo’s champion team, Ballkani, has been included in the list of 13 European clubs sanctioned by UEFA for unpaid debts. In an official statement, the governing body of European football announced that during the 2024/25 season, these clubs were investigated by the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) for failing to meet financial obligations to third parties, employees, or government authorities.

After the evaluation, CFCB imposed disciplinary measures, with most clubs being fined, while others have been warned about potential exclusion from European competitions. Among them, Ballkani will be required to pay €40,000, although it has not been disclosed to whom this amount is owed or the specific nature of the debts.

Included in the list of sanctioned clubs is the French giant Lyon, which is the most affected club, receiving a fine of €200,000. Following Lyon are Trabzonspor and Dinamo Batumi, each fined €100,000.

In addition to Ballkani, clubs such as Shakhtar Donetsk, Astana, Dinamo Tbilisi, Wisla Kraków, Tobol, Lincoln Red Imps, and Buducnost have also been fined. Meanwhile, two Ukrainian clubs, Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih and Polissya Zhytomyr, received only warnings, without any financial penalties.

UEFA has also outlined more severe measures if the debts are not cleared within the stipulated deadlines: Astana faces the risk of being suspended from European competitions for two seasons (2025/26 and 2026/27), while Dinamo Tbilisi and Dinamo Batumi could be excluded for one season.

This decision by UEFA underscores its determination to enforce financial regulations and prevent clubs from operating outside the set norms, including Kosovo’s champion, Ballkani.
